Christchurch North Community Patrol

Harcourts Vision supports Christchurch North Community Patrol

Harcoutrs Vision proudly support Christchurch North Community Patrol (previously Papanui Crimewatch), a group of volunteers who work alongside the police to help keep our community safe and free of crime. The Community Patrol carry out regular patrols and report any suspicious behaviour and vehicles onto the police. They act as the 'eyes and ears' of the police in the Christchurch North area, and focus on crime and burgularly 'hotspots'. They have been keeping watch over our premises and local neighbourhoods for the past 30 years.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring

Harcourts Vision Supports Big Brother Big Sisters

We are proud to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, Christchurch's largest volunteer mentor network, and love the thought of allowing kids to have experiences that they might not have been able to otherwise.

Harcourts Vision Franchise Owner Debbie Johnstone is passionate about the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) partnership. She believes kids need mentors. "I for one have benefited hugely from mentorship and BBBS does a wonderful job of making this happen for kids who might not otherwise have access to a long-term mentor. Everyone at BBBS is dedicated to their job and making this happen for the kids they work with. Their team looks after people just as we try to too", says Debbie. Debbie continues, "I still work with my mentor of many years. He helped me really see what I could achieve. More importantly, he helped me see what I could achieve without sacrificing my values. My hope is that the BBBS mentor mentees can develop this same kind of friendship and dialogue that leads to a successful journey with many successful outcomes along the way".

Meals On Wheels

Harcourts Vision Supports Meals on Wheels

We see helping deliver hot meals for NZ Red Cross Meals on Wheels as a vital role in the community.

Meals on Wheels is one of the longest standing and most recognised community programmes - and one that is much appreciated by its recipients. More than just a carrier of hot meals, independence is delivered to many elderly and disabled people and those recovering from illness or hospital treatment.

Most importantly, the service provides much needed regular social contact for the Meals on Wheels recipients.

Bishopdale Community Trust

Harcourts Vision supports Bishopdale Community Trust

We have continued to support Bishopdale Community Trust over the years due to all the great work they do in the community. One of their initiatives is their bread run, collecting left over bread from various businesses and then donating this to the community. We also donate to enable the Trust to run their various other programmes such as their weekly group activities.

Food Hampers for Local Schools

Harcourts Vision provide Food Hampers to local schools

We know Christmas can be be a tough time for some. Each year our team donate hampers of non-perishable food or grocery items to local schools for families in need each year. These are families who struggle on a daily basis who we will continue to support for many years to come.

City Mission Collections

Harcourts Vision Support the City Mission

Christmas time is often busy with all that is going on, and here at Harcourts Vision, we enjoy collecting for the Christchurch City Mission, be it for food or toys to make the season that much more enjoyable.

The City Mission has always had a commitment to "making Christmas happen for every child" by including Christmas treats and a new present alongside basic food parcels. People who come to the Mission for help, come for varied reasons such as illness, accidents or job losses which can trigger financial hardship.

YMCA Basketball

Harcourts Vision supports YMCA Basketball

We enjoy supporting our youth in the basketball at the YMCA in Bishopdale. The YMCA of Christchurch is invested in the next generation, there are wonderful programmes for the very young to the young at heart. Whether you are needing preschool care, dance lessons or sports programmes, the YMCA have it all.
